Call for Papers

The 21st China National Conference on Computational Linguistics (CCL 2022) will take place in Nanchang, China, 14-16 October 2022, hosted by Jiangxi Normal University. CCL is an annual conference starting from 1991 (bi-annual before 2013). It is the flagship conference of the Chinese Information Processing Society (CIPS), the largest NLP scholar and expert community in China. After near 30 years’ development, CCL has been widely recognized as the most authoritative, influential and largest NLP conference in China. With a major emphasis on computer processing of the languages in China, CCL is a premier nation-wide forum for disseminating new scholarly and technological work in computational linguistics.

Submissions

Papers submitted to CCL 2022 can be in Chinese or English. An accepted paper will be presented either as an oral talk or as a poster, as determined by the Program Committee. Papers accepted in Chinese will be recommended to the Journal of Chinese Information Processing, Journal of Tsinghua University (Science and Technology), Science China, and other key Computer Science journals of China technology. A directory of key journals of China technology is officially released by Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China annually. The journals to which papers are recommended might require an additional review before being accepted for publication. The authors of accepted papers must revise the papers according to the review before being published. The Journals reserve the right not to publish an accepted CCL paper that has not been revised according to the review. Accepted papers in English will be published in the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series.

In addition, all accepted papers will be published in CCL Anthology and ACL Anthology.

Format: We ask all submissions to follow the LaTeX templates provided. Papers may consist of up to ten (10) pages of content, plus unlimited references. Papers will be double-blindly reviewed without the authors’ names and affiliations included. Furthermore, self-references that reveal the author’s identity, e.g., “We previously showed (Smith, 1991) …”, must be avoided. Instead, use citations such as “Smith (1991) previously showed …”. Papers that do not conform to these requirements will be rejected without review. Please download the templates at http://cips-cl.org/static/CCL2022/downloads/ccl2022_template.zip

Submission Website: Submission will be electronic in PDF format through the START system at https://www.softconf.com/m/ccl2022

Multiple-Submission Policy: CCL 2022 invites the submission to ACL Rolling Review (ARR) which has received all reviews and meta-review in ARR by the commitment deadline of 1 July 2022, i.e. the paper was submitted to ARR for review on or before 15 May 2022 (UTC-12). If the paper has multiple versions in ARR, only the latest version that has all reviews and meta-reviews is allowed to be committed to CCL 2022. The paper should be committed through the submission website in PDF format which meets the format requirements of CCL 2022. The associated reviewing information in ARR, including title, abstract, reviews and meta-review must be printed into a PDF file to be submitted as the attachment of “ARR Review Comments”.

Multiple-Submission Policy: CCL 2022 allows authors to submit manuscripts to leading NLP international conferences at the same time only if the conferences have established similar multiple-submission policies. Papers that have been or will be submitted to other conferences must indicate this at the submission time. Authors of papers accepted for presentation in CCL 2022 must notify the program chairs by the camera-ready deadline (i.e., 1 August 2022) as to whether the paper will be presented at CCL 2022. Once confirmed, the paper must be withdrawn from other venues. We will not accept papers that are identical or overlap significantly in content or results with papers that will be (or have been) published elsewhere.

Awards and Funds

CCL has granted best paper awards to high-quality and influential submissions in Chinese and English respectively since 2014. This year, the Program Committee will keep granting best paper awards as before. The recipients of each award will receive bonus and a certificate.
